How Reframing Your Daily Chores Can Help You Enjoy and Simplify Your Life
Welcome to She Thrives with Stef Barti, a podcast dedicated to empowering women to live their best lives and thrive unapologetically.
How I Learned to Love House Chores (And You Can Too)
We all have those days where house chores feel like a mountain we just can’t climb. Whether it’s laundry piling up, dishes stacking high, or sweeping that never-ending mess.
This blog post is based on Episode 61 of my podcast, She Thrives with Stef Barti. If you prefer to listen, you can check out the original podcast episode.
It can seem impossible to stay on top of it all. But what if you could not only get through your house chores, but actually start enjoying them?
That’s the shift I’ve experienced recently, and I want to share how a small mindset change has made all the difference for me—and how it can work for you too!
The Struggle is Real (And Not Just for People with ADHD)
Now, you might be thinking,
“This sounds like a very specific problem. I’m not sure this applies to me.”
But here’s the thing: I believe this isn’t just an issue for people with ADHD, even though that’s something I’ve struggled with (and talk about on this podcast frequently).
In fact, a lot of us find ourselves mentally drained or overwhelmed by household responsibilities. Maybe you procrastinate, feel frustrated, or just can’t get motivated to clean up.

But something changed for me recently—something subtle, yet transformative.
I’ve found that house chores don’t have to be this soul-sucking task. I’ve actually been enjoying them.
Yes, you read that right.
If you need some help to embody your magic, I created the perfect self love course to ignite the goddess in you ✨“Unleash Your Wild Feminine” ✨
The Power of Reframing: From Chore to Ritual
You see, the magic lies in how we approach tasks. Housework has always been something I’ve struggled with.
In the past, I’d view laundry as a chore, cooking as a necessity, and cleaning as an annoying interruption to my day.
My internal monologue sounded something like, “Ugh, I have to do laundry again?”

But here’s the secret: mindset is everything.
A few months ago, something clicked.
I found myself slowing down and really being present during house chores. I started thinking about each task not as something I had to do, but as something I got to do.
Laundry wasn’t just laundry anymore—it became a ritual.
It sounds cliché, but it’s true: the more I shifted my mindset, the more enjoyable the task became.
When I started looking at my house chores as sacred rituals, everything changed.
Doing laundry wasn’t just about washing clothes—it became an opportunity for me to be mindful, take my time, and enjoy the process.

The act of folding clothes, hanging them to dry, and even organizing them became a form of meditation.
It’s like hitting “slow motion” on my day and finding moments of peace in the mundane.
It was amazing.
Turning House Chores Into Zen Moments
If you’re someone who struggles with house chores, I encourage you to try reframing them.
The next time you start to feel the weight of it all, pause, take a deep breath, and reframe that task as a ritual.
Just like how we romanticize the little moments in life, housework can become a space for mindfulness and calmness.

This simple change in perspective has transformed the way I approach everything from laundry to dishes.
And here’s something else that has been incredibly helpful for me: podcasts.
I can’t recommend them enough!
I’ve found that listening to podcasts while doing housework makes everything feel more enjoyable.
It’s like having a friend right there with me, keeping me company as I fold laundry or wash dishes.
In fact, podcasts have become a staple of my daily routine—so much so that I’ve actually started looking forward to housework because I know it’s my time to listen and learn from my favorite shows.
I know, absolutely wild things ! 🤭

Creating Balance by Eliminating Distractions
Another major shift for me was reducing distractions.
I realized that social media was stealing my time—and honestly, it wasn’t even that much time.
Still, those small moments of scrolling were adding up, leaving me less time for what I really wanted to do: take care of myself and my environment.
I actually deleted the Instagram app from my phone (no, I’m not telling you to quit it, but it was an important step for me).
Without those little distractions, I found myself spending more time on house chores and less time on endless scrolling.

And guess what? I felt more productive, more focused, and more connected to myself.
Why It’s Worth It to Find Joy in Housework
At the end of the day, house chores are a part of life.
They’re never going away.
So why not find a way to make them work for you?
Instead of viewing them as a burden, try to see them as an opportunity to practice mindfulness, self-care, and intentional living.
The more you reframe your thoughts about housework, the easier it becomes to stay consistent and, dare I say, enjoy it.

I hope this post encourages you to try out the tools that have worked for me.
Whether it’s reframing your mindset, incorporating podcasts into your routine, or simply eliminating distractions, there are so many ways to make housework less of a chore and more of a life-affirming practice. 🫶🏾

Feminine embodiment & Self Love Practice
I created my “Unleash your Feminine Power” to help you really start diving into your own unique power.

In this course, you will learn to connect with your body through some very sensual movements.
There is no fancy choreography to worry about. I really wanted to make this as simple as possible.
The goal is to give you a somatic practice that you can implement into your daily routine in order to start embodying your authentic self.

It is high time we start prioritizing our relationship with our own body too.
Because in order to be truly happy and content in life, I really believe you need to strike for a balance.
That means feeding your soul, your heart, your body.

And this is the goal of my ” Unleash your Feminine Power“.
The beautiful thing is that once you start getting in touch with that fire within, it only grows from there.
This energy will go on to light up your path, simultaneously guiding you through life.
So in a way, it is your own inner guiding compass. 💕

Women Self Love Wellness Retreat
I am so passionate about women empowerment. Everything I do is based on this. I want to see more women embrace their authentic selves. Trust me life gets so much better.
That’s the main focus of my self love women retreat. In this Wellness retreat, we go deep. I really love to connect with my fellow sisters.
That’s why I only do small groups of 10-12 women.

This retreat is an invitation to embody your feminine and to dive into radical self love. Growth and shedding past limiting beliefs is the focal point.
We do this through various workshops, wellness practices such as breath work and lots of somatic movement.

As a dance teacher, of course we will also be using the power of dance and music to process, release and shed things that are holding us back so we can be born again.
Welcome to our transformational retreat where the focus is all on YOU.
Not only that, but we do it in style and comfort.

Our next retreat is in a breathtaking villa on the beautiful island of Gozo Malta. We will be staying in our own private villa.
And did I mention our own private chef? with our own private pool 🤭.

It is the perfect time to slow down and prioritize yourself.
Also, don’t forget to stay in touch for my Bali self love women wellness retreat, for pure feminine embodiment and lots of dancing also.
