Grounding Rituals for Healing: Crystals, Palo Santo, Sage, and Ancestral Remedies for Wellness

Welcome to She Thrives with Stef Barti—an empowering podcast for women who are ready to live their best lives and thrive unapologetically.

In today’s episode, I’m sharing some of the grounding rituals that have become a vital part of my daily routine, including Palo Santo, sage, crystals, and other natural remedies.

These practices help me stay centered, clear, and connected to my own energy.

This blog post is based on Episode 57 of my podcast, She Thrives with Stef Barti. If you prefer to listen, you can check out the original podcast episode.

Grounding with Palo Santo

Let’s kick things off with Palo Santo—one of my all-time favorite tools for grounding.

This sacred wood has truly changed my routine. I burn it every morning and night during my meditation practice, and it helps me feel centered and clear.

The sweet, earthy fragrance creates such a peaceful atmosphere, and I love using it as part of my morning reset. I even burn it while I shower (in the dark, with candles, of course), and it feels like a luxurious ritual that helps me reconnect with my intentions for the day.

Palo Santo is known for its purifying properties, promoting peace and tranquility, and I’ve found it to be a game-changer in my own life.

Sage: Purification and Peace

Along with Palo Santo, sage has been another staple in my routine.

I’ve been using white sage, which is believed to cleanse and purify negative energy. Whenever I light it, I immediately feel like I’m clearing the air—both physically and energetically.

It’s a simple yet powerful ritual that helps me reset my space, especially if I’ve been feeling overwhelmed or stressed.

I also use lavender sage, a blend of white sage and lavender, which combines the purifying properties of sage with the calming energy of lavender.

This combination is absolutely perfect for creating a peaceful, calming environment—especially when I want to wind down in the evening or refresh my space.

Flower Sage: A New Favorite

Recently, I added flower sage to my collection. This blend of sage and aromatic flowers adds a beautiful, uplifting fragrance to the air.

It’s a lovely addition that not only brightens the space but also gives me some of that good vibes.

It’s an aesthetic, calming, and refreshing element that has quickly become one of my stapples.

Ancestral Healing and Natural Remedies

A lot of my connection to these rituals comes from my family’s heritage.

Growing up, I spent a lot of time with my grandmother and aunts, who were always practicing natural remedies.

Whether it was a tea for stress relief or an herbal remedy for a common cold, they always knew what to do.

At the time, I didn’t fully appreciate these practices, but looking back now, I realize just how much knowledge they had about using plants, herbs, and natural ingredients for healing.

There was always a solution that didn’t involve medication—though of course, we weren’t against modern medicine—but the natural remedies were such an integral part of our wellness culture.

As I rediscover these practices, I feel a deep sense of connection to my roots.

I’m exploring these rituals not only as self-care but as a way to honor traditions, wisdom and slowing down.

It’s like I’m reclaiming a part of my heritage that I didn’t fully understand when I was younger.

Crystals: From Skepticism to Curiosity

Now, crystals—let’s talk about them.

I’ll be honest: I used to be a skeptic.

I didn’t understand the hype, and I kind of made fun of people who were into them.

Sorry Y’all 🤷🏽‍♀️

But over time, I’ve become more open to the idea, and I’ve started to experiment with crystals in my spiritual practices.

Crystals are believed to have metaphysical properties that can enhance various aspects of life, and I’ve found that using them in my rituals has helped me feel more balanced and connected.

Each crystal has its own unique energy, and I’ve been drawn to them in ways I never expected.

It’s fascinating to explore how they can complement other grounding rituals like Palo Santo and sage.

The Psychology Behind Rituals

Something else that’s been on my mind lately is the psychology behind these rituals.

I recently read Contagious: Why Things Catch On by Jonah Berger, and it got me thinking about how human psychology in a different way.

Rituals, especially ones that involve sensory experiences like scent, touch, and sound, have a deep psychological impact on us.

There’s something powerful about creating intentional moments of peace and grounding in our day.

It’s like planting seeds of tranquility and healing, and watching them grow in our lives. These practices can truly shift our energy and mindset in a profound way.

In this course, you will learn to connect with your body through some very sensual movements.

It is high time we start prioritizing our relationship with our own body too.

Because in order to be truly happy and content in life, I really believe you need to strike for a balance.

That means feeding your soul, your heart, your body.

You are magic !

And this is the goal of my ” Unleash your Feminine Power“.

The beautiful thing is that once you start getting in touch with that fire within, it only grows from there.

This energy will go on to light up your path, simultaneously guiding you through life.

So in a way, it is your own inner guiding compass. 💕
