7 Actionable Tips to Stay Consistent and Start Crushing Your Goals

Welcome to She Thrives with Stef Barti, a podcast dedicated to empowering women to live their best lives and thrive unapologetically.

Staying consistent is one of the most challenging yet essential parts of achieving your goals.

Whether you’re trying to build a business, maintain a fitness routine, or simply live a more intentional life, consistency is key.

In this blog, I am sharing my personal journey and actionable tips that can help you break through your struggles with consistency and start seeing real progress.

This blog post is based on Episode 7 of my podcast, She Thrives with Stef Barti. If you prefer to listen, you can check out the original podcast episode.

Here are 7 strategies I use to stay on track—and how you can implement them in your own life

Recognize Your Natural Flow and Work With It

One of the biggest game-changers for me was realizing that I don’t have to force myself to work the way others do.

I used to stress about using a fancy camera and complicated equipment to record videos, thinking it was the only way to create quality content.

But when I stopped trying to follow someone else’s process and embraced what felt natural to me, everything clicked.

I found that using my phone to record was easier, faster, and just as effective. By working with my own flow, I became more consistent.

Takeaway: Recognize your own natural rhythms and adapt your tasks to fit your flow. Find tools and methods that feel easy and sustainable for you.

It’s all about embracing your authentic self and bringing more joy, love, and power into your life.

If you need some help to embody your magic, I created the perfect self love course to ignite the goddess in you ✨“Unleash Your Wild Feminine” ✨

Let Go of Perfectionism

For a long time, I let perfectionism hold me back. I’d put off projects because I wanted them to be flawless.

Whether it was the lighting in my videos, the quality of my work, or even how my workspace looked, I was always waiting for the “perfect” moment.

Words of Wisdom from Armenia

But the truth is, waiting for perfection is a productivity killer. Once I let go of that need for everything to be perfect, I found that I was able to create more, do more, and feel better about it.

Takeaway: Ditch perfectionism. Start with what you have, and focus on making progress, not achieving perfection.

Build a Routine That Supports Your Goals

Having a consistent routine is key to staying on track.

I started by creating a simple morning routine that helps me ease into my day.

It includes brushing my teeth, taking a shower, and heading to the gym—simple tasks that set a positive tone for the rest of the day.

Not a single soul, peace and bliss. But on the not so bright side, the internet was down, so he had to hook me to his personal hotspot.

The more I automated these little actions, the easier it became to stay focused on my bigger goals.

Takeaway: Build a morning routine that helps you start your day on the right foot. Automate small habits to reduce decision fatigue and support your larger goals.

Simplify Your To-Do List

I used to love making long to-do lists, but I quickly realized they were more overwhelming than helpful.

I’d check off a few things, but the list would still feel never-ending. Now, I follow a strategy I call “Top Three”—each day.

The ladies doing their magic as usual 🙂

I identify the three most important tasks I need to focus on.

This keeps me focused and ensures I’m spending my energy on what truly matters.

Takeaway: Simplify your to-do list by narrowing it down to the top three priorities. Focus on what’s important and let the rest go for the day.

Stick with Something Long Enough to See Results

Patience is key when it comes to consistency.

I’ve learned that it’s not enough to try something for a day or two and expect instant results. Whether it’s a new habit, exercise routine, or work strategy, I have to give it time to work.

I’ve committed to sticking with things for at least a month before deciding if they’re worth keeping. This helps me trust the process and not give up too soon.

Takeaway: Commit to a new routine or system for at least a month to really assess its effectiveness. Trust the process.

Know When to Let Go

As important as consistency is, I’ve also learned that it’s just as crucial to know when to pivot.

Sometimes, a method or routine stops serving me, and that’s okay.

I’ve gotten better at assessing when something isn’t working anymore and being okay with letting it go.

If it’s no longer aligned with my goals or doesn’t feel right, I move on.

Takeaway: Learn to assess what’s working and what’s not. Don’t be afraid to let go of what no longer serves you, and give yourself permission to try something new.

Be Kind to Yourself

Perhaps the most important lesson I’ve learned on my journey to consistency is to be kind to myself.

I can be my harshest critic, but I’ve realized that consistency doesn’t mean perfection.

Some days are better than others, and that’s okay.

What matters is showing up and making progress. I remind myself that I’m human, and I don’t have to be perfect to move forward.

Takeaway: Be patient with yourself. Celebrate your progress, no matter how small, and treat yourself with the same kindness you’d offer a close friend.

In Summary: How You Can Stay Consistent

To stay consistent and reach your goals, focus on these seven things:

  1. Go with your natural flow: Identify your rhythms and adapt your tasks to fit them.
  2. Ditch perfectionism: Focus on progress, not perfection.
  3. Build a routine: Create simple, automatic habits that support your goals.
  4. Simplify Your to-do list: Prioritize the top three tasks each day.
  5. Stick with it: Give routines and systems time to work before making changes.
  6. Know when to let go: Assess what’s working and let go of what no longer serves you.
  7. Be kind to yourself: Practice self-compassion and celebrate your progress.
