Portugal: Lisbon & Porto Adventures
19-25 October 2023
Bem Vido a Portugal, ladies!
I am so excited to spend an exciting week with you in this wonderful place. This will be a week in a very small intimate setting. We should be a maximum of 14 ladies waltzing in the beautiful streets of Lisbon and Porto, eating our weights in food and exploring the beautiful Douro wine region of Porto.
Are You ready? Because I know I am 🙂
Day 1: Welcome to Lisbon!

Ah, Lisboa!
Where do I even begin? We are starting the week on the perfect note. Arrive in Lisbon on your own time and make your way to our beautiful Hotel which will be our meeting point and the beginning of the tour.

Check into our city center hotel, freshen up and relax. Once everyone arrives, we will get to know our surrounding with a city tour. Later in the evening we will go for dinner and get acquainted to some amazing local dishes with our new besties.
Highlights:
-Pre dinner city tour
-Evening dinner with wine
Day 2: Lisbon Food Tour & Pasteis de Nata Cooking Class

Calling out all my fellow foodies. Today is going to be so much fun.
My number one priority for this week is for us to dive deep into Portuguese culture. This tour is not about going through a checklist of all the buildings and landmarks to see. I believe that every city has a heart and my goal is for us to get really close and intimate and get to know Lisbon’s soul.

One of the best way to do that is often through food. Which is the exact reason why we will start our day with a food tour and by sampling out some of the city’s best kept secrets. Bring comfortable shoes because this is also a walking tour. We will eat our way through the city while admiring the beautiful Portuguese architecture and listening to our guides local stories.
Yes, I know, I know! We had so much fun and we can barely walk now.
We will go back to our hotel to freshen up and unwind a bit. I hope you’re ready for what’s to come.
Remember the famous classic Portuguese dessert ? Well later, we will test our own skills by getting hands on with a Pasteis de Nata baking session. Let’s see how we fare in making these famous Portuguese custard tarts.
Highlights:
-Lisbon Walking Food Tour
-Pasteis de Nata Baking Class
Day 3: Sintra, The Breathtaking Fairytale Castle

Yesterday was all about food and eating our way through Lisbon. Today is an exciting cultural day. We will take a side trip and making our way to Sintra. This Moorish castle is absolutely breathtaking. No wonder, I had to make sure to include this in our Portuguese adventure.
This trip lasts the whole day so we will get back to our hotel in the early evening. You can choose to relax in our hotel for our last night in Lisbon.
Highlights:
-Sintra Daytrip
Day 4: Transfer to Porto with city stops
Today we are heading to the beautiful Portuguese gem that is the city of Porto.
Our private transfer will pick us up from our hotel. The driving from Lisbon to Porto is relatively short. It’s only a three hour drive.
Nevertheless, in order to get the best out of our mini Portuguese road trip, we will also make three stops along the way to check out the cities of Aveiro, Nazaré and Obidos. Aveiro is often referred to as the Venice of Portugal. We will wander around a network of canals and watch some of the cutest painted boats strolling along the waters.

On the other hand, Nazaré is famous for its beaches but its claim to fame is its rough sea and cliffs. During the winter season, people flock there to watch some of the craziest mighty beach waves along with the courageous surfers tackling them.

Then we have the lovely medieval town of Obidos with its whitewashed colored house, cobblestoned streets and its traditional cherry liquor “Ginja de Obidos”
After this amazing excursion, check into our fabulous hotel in Porto, relax and unwind at the hotel.

Highlights:
-Private Transfer to Porto
-City Stop in Aveiro, Nazaré and Obidos
Day 5: Porto Walking Food Tour, Shopping, Fado Show Dinner

Welcome to Porto!
Each city is unique and has their own quircks. This is why today we will be checking out the food scene of Porto. I am so excited for this one becasue Porto is a bit smaller and has a more intimate feel to it. At the same time, you will get to explore the nuances of Porto’s food culture while diving into some regional specialties.
After our food tour, you will have some free time for shopping

At night, we will have a very special dinner with the Fado experience. This is a very intense Portuguese folk music and dance form with Arabic and African roots. Get ready for an intense show where the artist invites you in to share a deep passion and melancholy. All these emotions while sharing a local meal that you won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
Highlights:
-Food Tour
-Shopping
-Fado Dinner Experience
Day 6: Douro Valley, Vineyards & Boat Tour

We’re ending our Portugal ladies only group tour with a bang. Of course we cannot come to Porto without a dedicated time to the world famous region of Porto. And this is exactly what we will be doing today.
Don’t forget to wear your most stretchy pants. We will taste the traditional Port wine which also contributed to Porto’s fame. Experience farm to table with a traditional lunch made with the freshest local ingredients. You will also get to enjoy a relaxing boat cruise along the calm river of the Douro river.
Highlights:
-Douro Valley & the Vineyards
-Porto Wine Tasting
-Boat Tour on the Douro River
-Traditional lunch with locally sourced ingredients
Day 7: Until we Meet Again

Sadly all good things must come to an end and today is the end of our tour.
It’s time to check out of our hotel. Over achievers can try to squeeze in some extra shopping time before making their way to the airport.
I don’t really do well with goodbyes so let’s just say ” until we meet again” and see you soon in my next ladies group adventure 🙂
