After spending lots of time in Bali, I couldn’t wait to come back to my blog and tell you about it.
I must say that I did not plan to do any shopping whatsoever. But there were so many beautiful authentic things that I felt so inspired and ended up buying way too many things.
So my personal experience is the inspiration for this current Bali shopping blog.

But after spending some quality time in Ubud. I wanted to dive deeper and get you ready for your shopping time in Ubud.

Quality Incense
I absolutely love my incenses.
There is something very special about returning home from your travels and burning one of your incenses you bought while vacationing.
I really struggle to describe the emotion. But it is the type that money can’t buy.
Just like that, in an instant, you’re teleported back there and it brings back so many great memories.
Ubud has a great selection of incenses. You will also find the utmost quality. There are tons of shops all around town with amazing options.
The store at the Pyramids of Chi is another popular place for incenses.
Organic Candles
That’s one more thing I like to buy to get the most out of my travels.
I burn my candles I brought from Ubud, everyday until they ran out.
And let me tell you that it is such a simple act that makes me feel so deeply connected to Bali while being back home, a thousand miles away.
I got a candle made by a local family with crystals. It smells so good and has become such an integral part of my morning routine.
100% Linen Clothes
Bali is famous for its quality clothing.
You will find some of the best linen over there. I ended up buying so many beautiful unique pieces.
It really feels great to not only support the local economy but also support ethically sourced outfits rather than sweat shop production.
Not only that but knowing that my clothes will last a very long time makes me feel very cozy.
I also feel like a responsible and ethical consumer.
Tailored clothes
Now this would be a lovely gift idea.
Even if you want to do this for yourself, it’s such a lovely experience to get your clothes tailor made in Bali.
Many don’t know that but you can actually go to a seamstress to make your very own pieces.
I didn’t have time to do that. That said, it is high on my bucket list of things I want to do when I return to Bali next time.
Jewelry
Now this is where I might have went a little bit too hard.
I absolutely love jewelry, especially rings. And I ended up purchasing 7 rings during my time in Bali.
Or so I think! 🧐
I lost count after a while 🤭
Bali has some of the world’s best silversmiths. The skillset is often passed down from one generation to the next.
That is also the reason why you will notice, the prices aren’t going to be dirt cheap.
People tend to associate Bali with lower prices but that is not necessarily true. Especially when it comes to buying handicrafts, the quality stuff cost a little bit.
I am only mentioning this in order to adjust your expectations. Because, I myself, was taken aback by this.
I adjusted really fast but I overheard so many people lamenting over this. 🤭
Singing bowls
Ubud being such a spiritual place with lots of sound healing happening, this isn’t surprising at all.
When I enquired around, many of those singing bowls are imported from nearby places such as Tibet and Nepal.
That said, Bali is still a very good place for you to purchase your singing bowls.
Wooden decoration Gems
This one is a hard one to miss.
Bali is known for their wood, that Bali boho chic aesthetic.
So naturally, you can expect to find lots of decoration gems. Whatever you’re looking for, you will find and then some.

Looking to decorate your entire house?
No problems
Bali has got you covered from bed furniture all the way to little items like table mats.
What a great experience. And you don’t have to worry about shipping, all you have to do is go there to select your items and then they will be shipped to you.

Is Ubud good for shopping?
You bet it absolutely is!
After experiencing it and going shopping myself. I can 100% vouch that Ubud makes for a great shopping destination.
What is Special about Ubud?
Ubud is indeed very special. It is a very spiritual place.
The local way of life, their spirituality and beliefs, along with the dramatic lush landscape all contribute to making Ubud a very little special place.
What to wear?
I wouldn’t worry too much about this.
You can wear what you would usually wear at home. As long as you don’t go around town walking in tiny bikinis, you’ll be fine.
To give you an idea, I found the ladies there wearing dresses, shorts, breathable outfits made of linen, etc
