Best Countries for Your First Solo Female Travel Adventure ( Easy Mode & Safe Destinations)
I really believe every lady should travel entirely solo at least once in her life. A reality is also that our world is quite big and it can be overwhelming to decide where to go on your solo female travel.
If you are looking for ideas for easy destinations, here are some of the best recommendations for your first time or next solo female adventure.
These countries being easier to travel to doesn’t make them any less boring or unworthy. I really think every suggestion in my list is an amazing destination for the discerning solo female traveler.

Before we dive in, I also want to let you know that you should never let your solo status stop you from going anywhere you want to. Obviously, I am not advocating for you to pack your bags and go vacation in the middle of war zone. That said, there is almost always a way to go to most places. Another fun fact is that, unlike what the news tell you, the world is filled with good and well-meaning humans.
And if you really want to travel somewhere in particular and don’t feel safe enough to go solo, do not ever feel embarrassed to join a group tour. These are so much fun that I myself started organizing some really exciting ladies only group travels around the world. The sisterhood that you get by going that route is simply unparalleled.
I often travel to very challenging locations. and this list I put up is focused on some easy destinations where you won’t feel on high alert as a woman by yourself.
This is in no way an extensive list but I believe it is a great start. I put this list together based on safety, infrastructure and overall how easy it is to move around as a solo woman traveling alone.
So let’s dive right in!
Scandinavia
Scandinavia often comes up as one of the safest places and most progressive for women. There’s tons to keep you entertain and busy for as long as you wish. Choose between Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Finland and Greenland. You will have the best adventure of your life in any of these faboulous countries.
The nature and active traveling opportunities are out of this world. Moreover, if you’re a foodie, you’ll be happy to know that the food scene is thriving.
Iceland

Iceland is technically still part of Scandinavia but I think it deserves a special mention .
Iceland isn’t called the land of ice and fire for no reason. From volcanoes to glaciers, this place will leave you breathless. Most importantly, it is extremely safe. Some locals even leave their doors open and their babies outside of the shop when shopping just so that the kid can have some fresh air.

How crazy is that, right?
If this doesn’t say heaps about safety, then I don’t know what does.
Estonia

Welcome to the Baltics ladies!
I travel many times a year to this part of the world. It is absolutely beautiful and so incredibly affordable. Estonia’s capital Tallinn is so whimsical. If you ever grew up watching Disney movies and wonder what a fairy tale city would feel like, just visit the Baltics 🙂

There is so much to do in Estonia. From the colors of Tallinn and the coast, all the way to the seaside vacation town of Parnu
Latvia

Calling out all my princesses!
Latvia is another Fairy tale place in the Baltics.

I am highly biased here as it is my all time favorite country in the Baltics. I absolutely love Riga so much. The place just has a vibe I find really hard to explain.

Plus the Baltics are another part of the world where women are respected and gender equality is very strong here. So you will be able to explore the area in the safest condition as possible. I never once felt unsafe there.
Of course you also need to use basic common sense wherever you find yourself in the world

Italy
The place that really needs no introduction.
Italy has had a head start and is a classic. Like they say, an oldie but still a goodie. Pack your bags and have a go at ” la dolce vita” and the art of slow living.
Honestly, you can never go wrong with Italy. It checks every single box, food, wine, history, scenery and the warmest locals to top it off.
Western Europe

This is where I group all the usual obvious European suspects such as France, Spain, England. They might feel less intimidating for a first solo female trip. The infrastructure is also extensive and you can decide to go on so many adventures, such as hiking, wine and food hunts.
United Arab Emirates

Welcome to my current home.
The UAE pretty much steals the show in the gulf region. I am not saying this because I live here but because it is honestly one of the safest places to visit in the entire world, especially in the Middle East where security is often a problem and the region can feel unstable at time.

Well, you don’t have to worry about any of this in the UAE.

Dubai will give you a run for your money with its extravaganza. On the other side Abu Dhabi will win your heart with the slower pace, its culture and the beautiful structure of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, which might remind you of the Taj Mahal.
Canada
Now how could I forget my home town?
As a Canadian, of course I have to rep my home town Montreal really hard.
All bias asides, you will have a fantastic time. Montreal has an amazing food scene and culture and all this at the best prices.
How could I also not mention the Montreal International Jazz Festival? By the way it is the biggest one in the world. You could also time your visit with the poutine food festival. There is so much to do there honeslty.

When you get tired of city life, you could also check out the pristine Rockies and famous places like Lake Louise. All this without worrying about the safety issues related to traveling solo as a lady.
Serbia

If you’ve been on this blog long enough, you will know how obsessed I am with Serbia. And if you are looking for a destination out of the ordinary, don’t think any further.
Serbia is totally safe, the locals are very friendly and respectful, the prices are amazing. The food and café culture will get you hooked.
Need any more reasons? I’ve written tons of articles on Serbia, so make sure to check them out.
I love the place so much that I started running women only small group to explore together.

In my next all female group tours, we will visit the most exciting part of Serbia, from the pristine mountains to the fairy tale town of Novi Sad all the way to Bohemian Belgrade.

This was some recommendation for the best countries to visit for your first solo female trip. I really hope you found this helpful and that it inspires your next adventure.
